About Me

I provide online counselling worldwide, supporting individuals navigating stress, anxiety, trauma, burnout, relationship challenges, and major life transitions Before founding Soul Balance Wellbeing Services, my work placed me in rooms where pain was raw and often unspoken. I began my professional life as a teacher. At 23, standing in front of a classroom, I learned early that a calm presence carries more authority than control ever could. Over thirteen years in education, I saw that what looks like defiance is often unspoken hurt. What appears as an attitude is often fear, and what shows up as silence is sometimes shame. That understanding shaped how I listen today. I don’t rush to correct; I pause to understand what is happening beneath the surface. When I moved into community mental health and rehabilitation settings, I supported individuals living with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and substance use recovery. I worked with people rebuilding their lives after incarceration, facing stigma, shame, and the fragile hope of starting again. That work taught me that recovery is not linear, and dignity must never be optional. At AWARE, I later led and supervised trauma-informed crisis intervention at the Women’s Helpline and Sexual Assault Care Centre. I supported survivors of gender-based violence while mentoring more than 45 volunteers and strengthening systems of care. Across both helplines, we served thousands of clients annually. Every call carried urgency, fear, and courage. Crisis work shaped me deeply. It strengthened my ability to remain steady when emotions are intense. It sharpened my awareness of safety, power, and systemic barriers. Most importantly, it reinforced this truth: real change begins when someone feels believed. Across different settings and life stages, one pattern remained consistent. Whether working with seniors facing loneliness, couples navigating intimacy, adolescents exploring identity, or survivors rebuilding trust — healing begins when people feel safe enough to tell the truth. Today, my private practice brings these experiences together. I work with local and cross-cultural individuals navigating burnout, anxiety, trauma, grief, and identity transitions. My approach is trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and grounded in steady presence. I do not rush the work. I do not fix. I sit with you, slow things down, and help you build clarity and self-trust that lasts beyond the therapy room. Safe. Steady. Real.

Current Clinical Leadership

  • Counseling Psychologist, Talk Your Heart Out (TYHO): In my current practice at Talk Your Heart Out (TYHO), I deliver empathetic, evidence-based psychological support to a diverse global clientele.

  • Lead & Supervisor (AWARE): For nearly a decade, I dedicated my practice to supporting survivors at the Sexual Assault Care Centre (SACC) and the Women’s Helpline. My role was to provide a deeply grounded and compassionate presence for individuals during their most vulnerable moments. Beyond immediate crisis intervention, I walked alongside survivors through the long, often quiet journey of rebuilding a sense of safety and reclaiming their own agency. These years taught me that even in the aftermath of profound pain, there is a path toward healing when you have a safe, confidential space to be truly heard.

  • Rehabilitation Counsellor (Anglican Care Centre): Supported clients with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and long-term mental health conditions.

  • Recovery Support Counsellor (SANA): Worked within substance use recovery and rehabilitation.

  • Counsellor (SPFA): Provided relationship, adolescent, family, and reproductive counseling.
